What We Do

As football coaches, we are encouraged to make our sessions realistic. Why should the way we learn be any different?

At Extra Time Development, we provide practical CPD sessions, delivered on the pitch by highly experienced football coaches. Each session, designed around a specific topic, will be realistic to how you would structure your own sessions, using only readily available equipment accessible to the everyday coach. Each course is structured to cover every aspect of a single session, including the initial set-up, topic-relevant arrival activities, and game-realistic practices and progressions. Questions are encouraged throughout, however there will always be a short Q&A at the end of every course.

Bring your boots, as each participant on the course will have the opportunity to partake in the session for demonstrations. However, there is no requirement to join in as we understand that some may prefer to watch and learn from the sideline instead.

Our coaches have designed these sessions using their wealth of knowledge gained over years of working within the game. Each brings their own distinctive coaching method and delivery, formed through their experiences in different roles and environments. Whilst each coach is unique, they all have one thing in common; a passion for coach education. Our coaches are here to share their knowledge with you, equipping you with detailed coaching points and the ability to become adaptable in your own environments, whilst learning in an enjoyable, realistic and practical setting.

Our Coaches

Our coaches work in different roles and settings, giving you the opportunity to witness various methods and delivery styles that can be added to your coaches toolbox.

Academy Coaches

Learn from those currently coaching within some of the best academy setups in the country. Our coaches are experienced in delivering football sessions to different age phases and have worked with some of the best youngsters at top clubs in England, with some going on to become top flight professional footballers. Some of our coaches have also been first team coaches, managers, and assistant managers.

FA Tutors & Mentors

Many of our coaches deliver FA qualifications, including the Introduction to Coaching Football, UEFA C and UEFA B qualifications. Those attending one of our CPD sessions being delivered by these coaches will experience a session based on best practice, using methods encouraged by the governing body of football in England. Their experience within coach education settings will ensure clear, concise information and a seamless format of delivery.

Ex-Professionals

As ex-professional players, these coaches have learnt their trade from some of the best in the game. They've got decades worth of experience, picking up coaching points and sessions from being both a player and a coach. They have been exposed to a multitude of different styles and methods, which have been used to form their own coaching philosophies.

University Lecturers

Alongside their practical roles within the game, some of our coaches are also university lecturers, educating those taking their masters degrees specialising in football coaching. These coaches design and deliver their sessions based on proven pedagogical approaches to teaching, founded upon research behind how we best learn. These CPD session may include contemporary methods of coaching that you can take back and utilise in your own environments.
